What's Up Down Under Outback Adventure - Day 2

Image
Day 2 Blog Location: Katherine Gorge, Katherine, NT Great nights sleep in the swag 😊 Today is a boat cruise down the Katherine Gorge. Early start for the cruise and very popular so book early when you get here. We start off and spot a few freshwater crocs (freshies) at the start. We learn the freshies will leave you alone and many swim in the gorge during dry season as the river is lower and they constantly monitor for any saltwater crocs that can enter the river with traps etc. During dry season the river gets lower, and you actually have to change boats halfway as a section becomes rocks so boats can't travel all the way.  The gorge is just spectacular! Our tour guide was awesome in general information about the gorge and the local people.   Cruise was amazing and something you should do when you come to Katherine and see the gorge in all its glory. On the way back we see hundreds of fruit bats that occupy the trees near the river, which fly at sunset for feeding! Check out m
